Blue Buffalo is a very high quality food; I believe it's the only high quality dog food that can be obtained at a chain pet store. Some other high quality foods commonly found at independent retailers are Innova/Innova Evo, Orijen, Go! Natural, Nature's Variety, and Canidae. BLUE, Innova Evo, Go Natural and Nature's Variety have grain-free formulas which are the most natural diet for a canine since they are carnivores and not meant to digest grains. The Innova, Nature's Variety prarie, Go! Natural and Canidae's regular formulas are still high quality even though they contain grains; this is because they still use high quality meat sources and whole grains (complex carbohydrates) instead of cheap or hard-to-digest grains such as wheat and corn. Good choice with the Blue Buffalo though! And I commend you for doing your research!
