cat fleas and me

i bought advantage drops for my cats and the last five days my cats have stopped scratching but i am going crazy with the fleas walking on me, i am getting desperate, the vet cant help, the chemist gave me anti bite ointment and i am sat evenings with stickytape on my fingers trying to eliminate them.
