Now I have a reformed, but not quite right feral

cat. She PREFERS the standard litter box at the

bottom of the well lit basement stairs so she can see if any enemy is approaching while she is in the "vunerable" position.

She likes the litter deep and cleaned once a day--she would never use a covered or automated box. Covered is trapped, and automated

is too noisy.

Comment: I use a sifter box for my cats, but instead of leaving the sifter on the top for the cats to step on, I leave it in the middle of the two regular containers. When I take it out to empty it, I take the top box and dump it into the sifter, which is sitting ...

Litterbox Color and Bladder Infections

Comment: I find that a clear or a light colored litterbox helps me to determine bladder health. When my male cat got a bladder infection, I could see the red tint more easily in the lighter colored box and was able to get him help more quickly.
